One of the earliest to begin flowering and an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner! Clusters of lilac-pink tubular flowers are produced in abundance beginning in midspring and continuing into fall and are held against a contrasting foil of long-lasting showy deep bronze-red bracts and exceptionally dark green glossy foliage that takes on purple and bronze tones in winter. The flowers of Abelias attract a variety of pollinators including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Edward Goucher Glossy Abelia, considered to be a hybrid of Abelia x grandiflora x A. shumanii, has a naturally dense, rounded to vase-shaped habit on this medium-sized, evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub. Abelias are known for their toughness and adaptability to a variety of soil types provided they have average or better drainage. Deer resistant, somewhat salt tolerant, and mature, well-established plants are moderately drought resistant. 'Ellen Bosanquet' is one of the reddest of the Crinum Lilies producing large bell-shaped deep reddish pink to nearly maroon colored outward facing trumpets on sturdy stalks to 3'H. This reliable old favorite is known to produce a succession of flowering stalks on well established clumps. Wide medium green strap-like foliage. Crinums are extremely easy old garden favorites that will thrive with little or no care. Item# 3144.

Long pointed buds open to wonderfully fragrant large starry white flowers to 2" across that are borne in small clusters from spring to fall on this evergreen twining climber or arching shrub. Large rounded trusses of deep golden orange buds open to display the rich golden yellow, wonderfully fragrant flowers that are produced in early spring atop bare stems attracting butterflies, larger bees, and hummingbirds. Escatawpa is a vigorous and hardy selection of the Florida Flame Azalea, Rhododendron austrinum, that develops into an upright to rounded, medium to large deciduous shrub well suited to bright woodland settings but will also thrive in full sun under good conditions. Like the Aromi hybrids, Escatawpa has excellent tolerance to the heat and humidity of the Southeastern US. Sometimes still fondly referred to as Wild Honeysuckle Bushes, these nativars will do best in an average moist, well-drained, fertile, acidic soil from partial shade to full sun conditions. A 2016 Best of the Best Award winner at the UGA Trial Gardens! Large grape-like clusters of sweetly fragrant, dark purple and reddish-purple, pea-like flowers are produced throughout summer on this strong woody twining climber. Evergreen Wisteria is a non-invasive species, unlike the common Chinese Wisteria, and can be evergreen in mild winter climates (zones 9-10) but is generally deciduous elsewhere. Established plants will flower continuously from late spring and into fall. The flowers attract bees and other smaller pollinators. Evergreen Wisteria is an easy to grow and reliable vine but will need a strong long-lasting support in its permanent home as it will get fairly heavy in time. Excellent for sturdy arbors, trellises, and along fences. Item# 414

A more consistently evergreen selection of this easy medium sized shrub. The dense neat mound of deep green glossy foliage and red tinged stems is topped by clusters of white flowers in spring which make way to red berries ripening through purple and finally black. The flowers attract a variety of pollinators and the fruit attract songbirds and smaller fructivores. Everleaf Walter's Viburnum is a selection of the southeastern native Viburnum obovatum and its dense mounding habit lends it to use anywhere a medium-sized shrub is desired in the landscape. It is generally evergreen into zone 8A and tends to be deciduous to semi-evergreen in zones 6 and 7. Deep purple, fragrant, conicle spikes of flowers up to 8" long are produced beginning in late spring and often lasting into fall and are held against a foil of contrasting gold to chartreuse foliage with the nectar rich flowers attracting a variety of pollinators including bees, butterflies, and the occasional hummingbird.
