A succession of red tubular blooms that end in a purple bat-like 'face' are topped by a pair of glowing red 'ears' creating the interesting 'bat face' look. Batface Cuphea, or Georgia Scarlet Batface Cuphea, is a tough and reliable low mounding perennial which blooms from late spring to frost. Bright orange-red, 1-1/2" long, green tipped tubular blooms with a pair of small upright petals are produced from summer to fall. This is a mounding shrub-like perennial to 5' from Southern Mexico and El Salvador. In Hawaii a unique Christmas lei is sometimes made from the flowers. Much loved by Hummingbirds. Item # 1080.

The 1" long magenta to fuchsia tubes open to display white petals with purple markings and seemingly cover up this plant throughout the growing season to potentially year round under warm frost free conditions. The flowers attract a variety of bees, butterflies and is reported to be a hummingbird magnet. Starfire Pink Cuphea or Cigar Plant is a naturally spreading and mounding plant eventually maturing to about 18-24"H and 24-36"W by the end of the growing season.
