William Lanier Hunt Sasanqua Camellia
Camellia x hiemalis 'William Lanier Hunt'

Medium-sized, brightly colored, nearing fuchsia to rose red, rose to loose peony form flowers are produced early in the season, October to December. William Lanier Hunt Sasanqua Camellia, a C. x hiemalis hybrid, has a vigorous upright to spreading, densely branching habit and is cloaked in dark glossy green, medium-textured foliage. Use this adaptable small to medium-sized evergreen shrub as a hedge, accent, or specimen plant for both the garden and landscape as well as for container culture. The Sasanqua Camellias are much more tolerant of growing conditions than standard Japonica Camellias and can tolerate less than perfect soils and full sun to light shade conditions.
