The Alamo Vine, Merremia dissecta but now classified as Distimake dissectus, is a twining, rhizomatous, native, perennial morning glory growing to about 10-12' long. The plants are cloaked in starkly contrasting, deep green, almond-scented, palmate foliage that makes the perfect foil for the bright white flowers. The Alamo Vine is native along much of the Gulf Coast and into central and southern Texas. It is drought resistant once fully established and is adaptable to average moist to periodically dry, well-drained soils. Provide a full sun to partly shaded site for optimum vigor and flowering.
