Blue Flame Amazon Pseudorhipsalis, Wittia, Disocactus
Pseudorhipsalis amazonica 'Blue Flame',

Adorning the eges of the flattened foliage leaf-like stems in spring the showy bright fuchsia tubular buds tipped in deep blue-purple open to display their starry form and white exerted stamens and inner petals. Blue Flame Pseudorhipsalis, Pseudorhipsalis amazonica, is an epiphytic tropical jungle cactus hailing from South America and when not in flower it closely resembles the Orchid Cacti or Epiphyllums with its upright, arching, and trailing flattened rich green foliage. Provide cool filtered or early morning sunlight and a well-draining cactus-like soil for optimum vigor and flowering. The Blue Flame Pseudorhipsalis is considered to be a prime candidate for low-maintenance hanging baskets and is reported to be tolerant of indoor conditions as well as on a shaded porch, patio, or greenhouse.
