Margarita Abelia
Abelia x grandiflora 'Margarita'
The bronze to green new growth is heavily edged in broad to narrow bands of red, orange, and yellow adorning deep red stems and are topped by clusters of nectar rich white flowers in summer that attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Margarita Abelia is a compact, densely branching, evergreen to semi-evergreen, small shrub that can be utilized both as easy and low maintenance container specimens as well as for adding fiery color to the garden and landscape. Although Abelias are tolerant of some shade, Margarita will have the richest colors and densest habit when grown in a full sun to mostly sunny area. In shade the variegation tends to range more into yellow and chartreuse. Provide an average to well-drained, fertile soil with average moisture for optimum vigor and health. Tough, easy, adaptable, and very low-maintenance. Item# 12631
