Large clusters of lightly fragrant, purplish pink flowers are borne en masse atop sturdy stems in spring attracting mainly butterflies. Dawn's Delight Prairie Phlox, a local selection of Phlox pilosa and an Almost Eden exclusive introduction, is a low growing, rhizomatous and slowly spreading, evergreen, native perennial with narrow deep green foliage that builds to about 8" high at peak flowering. Use this easy, low growing native as a splash of early season color in the garden or landscape where it can be utilized as an informal groundcover where it can be allowed to weave in and around larger plants, or near the front of the border.
