Bay Rum, West Indian Bay Tree
The spicily scented aromatic foliage has a fragrance similar to cloves. The leaves may be used in cooking, but the fruit, essential oils, and the Bay Rum cologne and perfumes, which are also produced from this tree, are considered toxic if ingested.
