Asteraceae

Short 'N' Sassy Helenium, Helen's Flower, Dogtooth Daisy, Sneezeweed

Short 'N' Sassy Helenium produces gold and orange petals that surround the deep brown rounded cones over an extended season. Just as the name implies, this little Helenium is a compact grower reaching about 12-18" high and spreading to about 24" wide. Short 'N' Sassy is compact enough for containers or for near the front of a sunny border, garden, or in the landscape. The flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

Heleniums or Sneezeweeds are North American native perennials of which Short 'N' Sassy is likely a hybrid selection that was discovered by Skagit Gardens, Mount Vernon, VA. Pinching back is generally not necessary for this cultivar. Heleniums should be cut back after flowering. Full sun and moist soils are preferred for best performance.
