Jessica Pentas, Egyptian Star Cluster

Pentas lanceolata 'Jessica' PP7702

Rubiaceae

Jessica Pentas, Egyptian Star Cluster
2-3" wide clusters of deep fuchsia star-shaped flowers are produced throughout the growing season on this vigorous large type Penta. Jessica was selected for its exceptional vigor and for its unusually colored flowers, for a Penta anyway. Like all Pentas, this one attracts a myriad of pollinators including butterflies, bees, and most likely hummingbirds as well. Provide this vigorous cultivar with a moderately fertile, acid soil in a sunny location. Jessica Pentas can be grown as container plants or in the garden. In areas where they are not hardy they are often grown as annuals due to their exceptional flower power and for the pollinators they attract.

The flowers of Pentas will attract butterflies and other nectar loving creatures to your gardens throughout summer. Where not hardy, heat and humidity tolerant Pentas make wonderful annuals for gardens or containers. In the northern portions of their hardiness range provide mulch to help ensure their return for the following season. Pentas are considered to be deer resistant and moderately salt tolerant.
