Lily of the Valley Tree, Rudraksha, Shiva's Tears
Large creamy white, frilly petals are held in large, downward facing clusters and emerge from showy pink, coral, to red sepals. Flowering begins in winter and continues most heavily until midsummer, additional flowers may be produced intermittently the remainder of the year. Ripe, sour berries are edible and contain a large pit. The Lily of the Valley Tree is an unusual tropical tree with large olive green to medium green simple foliage and can be grown as a 4-6' high container plant where winters experience freezes.     Rare in the trade.

A.k.a Shiva's Tears, and Rudraksha, Elaeocarpus grandiflorus is a cousin of the Japanese Blueberry Tree, Elaeocarpus decipiens.

Fruit, leaves, and bark are used medicinally in its native range, although we cannot recommend this.

Grows To: 4-8'H x 4-8'W, Larger in tropical climates.
