The 1/2" lightly fragrant, white tipped in purple tubular flowers of the Chinese Buttonbush are born in 1" wide, Sputnik-looking, ball-like clusters that are produced throughout summer and into fall. Beautiful
glossy dark green, fine textured foliage makes this tardily deciduous
shrub attractive even before it begins to flower and adds a wonderful
backdrop for the interesting flowers. Fairly adaptable to soil types and
durable once well-established.
The Chinese Buttonbush is tolerant of moist to wet soils as well as light shade and partial shade but will also do quite well in full sun in average soils. Easy to grow with few if any pests or diseases.
