I bought 3 stokes aster 2-3 years ago and they keep getting better every year in fairly poor soil. Big beautiful flowers that keep blooming for weeks and I never have to amend the soil. They have slowly started to create offshoots, which is great for me as I can imagine how wonderful they will look in a few more years once they’ve really filled in. These are not tall plants (leaves only-8” tall, with flower stalks -1.5’) so will be perfect for foreground planting. Leaves remain in good shape keeping nice color and no visible bug action. My plants get about 5 hours morning sun.
