Hummingbird magnet (8/26/2017)
I planted 3 of these in May in 3 different places in my garden. The hummingbirds will go from one to the other for hours. I can sit within a few feet of the blooms and the hummingbirds get so intent on getting to them that they ignore me and continue their nectar gathering. I trimmed off spent blooms and they are now blooming for a second time this summer.

Attracts bees too (7/6/2017)
This plant attracts carpenter bees, the big black bees. They are ''honey robbers''. They make a slit in the base of the tubular flower and drink directly from the base. Very interesting to see.
