Climbing Old Blush Rose
Rosa chinensis 'Climbing Old Blush'
A very free blooming old garden rose which requires little care for the great rewards of color it provides. It can be grown on a trellis, fence, or arbor. We can't say enough about the toughness and free-flowering qualities of this plant.
How do you get the most out of your climbing roses? Train the canes or
stems of your roses as horizontal as possible but with breaking them.
This may need to be done while the stems are still pliable but not when
they are so tender that they will snap. By training them horizontally
the hormones that induce flower production are spread out all along the
stems, whereas on a vertical stem all of those hormones go to the tip
and you will only get a few, if larger, flowers at the top.
